The name evokes the lines that run along these tubes with a larger diameter than penne. Rigatoni and mezz’rigatoni are very popular especially in Rome, where they find their maximum expression in typical local recipes, such as “cacio e pepe”.

For us they are synonymous with a traditional pasta dish, decidedly tasty
